Reports of attacks in Paris came up during jury selection as the Court asked prospective jurors about news exposure and possible changes in their attitudes toward Islam, Muslims and the War on Terror. Several jurors said the events had not changed their questionnaire answers. The defense sought additional questions about whether Paris coverage could influence jurors’ views of the case or defendant; the government initially argued that such questions were unnecessary.
