About
Tracey Gordon testified for the defense on Day 55 about teaching Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, whom she knew as Jahar, in fifth and sixth grades at Cambridgeport School. Under Miriam Conrad's questioning, she described his successful adjustment after advancing from fourth grade and remembered him as academically capable, hardworking, kind, respectful, and willing to try new activities. Photographs illustrated classroom activities and visits to Farm School.
After reviewing Exhibit 3552, Gordon identified her recommendation of Tsarnaev for peer conflict resolution. She explained that he did not have particular clique alliances and would befriend others and help people in need. She thought those qualities suited the program, but also said she believed it never got off the ground.
Gordon qualified several dates and recollections and acknowledged that she knew little about his relationships with his parents or siblings. The court sustained an objection to a question asking her reaction to learning of his involvement in the bombing. The government declined cross-examination.
