MR. WEINREB: Good afternoon, Mr. Frias.
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: Good afternoon.
MR. WEINREB: Where do you work?
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: UMass Dartmouth.
MR. WEINREB: What's your job there?
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: IT infrastructure project manager.
MR. WEINREB: What does "IT" stand for?
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: Information technology.
MR. WEINREB: How long have you had that job?
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: Be 12 years in June.
MR. WEINREB: What are your job responsibilities?
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: To administer the network, voice, cable TV, security, and access control systems.
MR. WEINREB: Do the security and access control systems include surveillance camera systems?
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: It does.
MR. WEINREB: In the course of your work, do you sometimes review surveillance data -- surveillance video taken by the system?
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: Yes.
MR. WEINREB: Does the system take fair and accurate videos?
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: Yes.
MR. WEINREB: Do the surveillance videos have a date and timestamp on them?
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: Yes.
MR. WEINREB: In your experience, are they accurate?
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: Yes.
MR. WEINREB: Were you asked to help in the Marathon bombing investigation?
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: Yes.
MR. WEINREB: How?
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: On Friday, I was called into work.
MR. WEINREB: Do you remember what the date was?
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: It was the 19th. I was called into work, and I was asked to assist the UMass Police with gathering information and preserving data.
MR. WEINREB: So what did you do to preserve data?
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: On the access control system and the camera system, we took a snapshot, which is basically like taking a picture and preserving that data.
MR. WEINREB: Were you asked to do anything in particular in connection with the fitness center?
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: Yes. I was approached by the police with a time and date and to look for a person of interest. So what we did is we sat down at our console and reviewed the video until we found what they were looking for.
MR. WEINREB: If you could --

MR. WEINREB: So if you'd direct your attention to that exhibit and look at the second line up from the bottom where it says "Jahar Tsarnaev," were you asked to pull surveillance video for the fitness center from that date and time?
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: Yes.
MR. WEINREB: And did you?
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: Yes.
MR. WEINREB: How many segments of video did you pull?
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: So a total of three segments of data.
MR. WEINREB: What did the first one show?
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: So it was the entry and then the exit of the fitness center.
MR. WEINREB: Your Honor, now just for the witness, could we have Exhibit 1504, please?
MR. WEINREB: Do you recognize this?
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: I do.
MR. WEINREB: What is it?
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: That is an image of the Indigovision software that we use at the fitness center and on campus.
MR. WEINREB: Is that a screenshot from a surveillance video?
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: Yes.
MR. WEINREB: The -- and is it a screenshot from the first video segment you pulled?
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: Yes.
MR. WEINREB: Looking in the lower left-hand corner, does it show what the date and time is of the segment?
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: Yes, it does.
MR. WEINREB: What's the date and time of that segment?
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: April 16th, and the time is 21:05.
MR. WEINREB: "21" meaning 9:05 p.m.?
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: Yes.
MR. WEINREB: And then --

CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: Yes.
MR. WEINREB: Was that a fair and accurate copy of the video segment you pulled on that day?
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: Yes.

CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: Yes.
MR. WEINREB: And now the door that person just entered, what is that the door to?
CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: That's the door to the fitness center.

CHRISTOPHER FRIAS: Yes.
