Relatives and friends offered childhood and social recollections of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. The court limited personal-reaction and family-history questioning, denied a mistrial motion, and excluded a Facebook post while admitting photographs and a recording identified as Tamerlan’s voice.

REDIRECT EXAMINATION BY MR. FICK:

MR. FICK: Very briefly, Miss Suleimanova. When the Tsarnaevs came to visit from Central Asia to Kaspiysk where you were living, where did they stay?

RAISAT SULEIMANOVA: Mostly with us in Kaspiysk.

MR. FICK: How many rooms were in the apartment that you lived in?

RAISAT SULEIMANOVA: We have a two-room apartment.

MR. FICK: That's two rooms total other than the kitchen, is that right?

RAISAT SULEIMANOVA: That's right.

MR. FICK: And so how many total people were packed into those two rooms?

RAISAT SULEIMANOVA: Our family that consists of six people; the Tsarnaevs, whose family also consisted of six people; my other cousin that we saw in the photograph and his mother; and sometimes we would have other people as well.

MR. FICK: So is that more than a dozen people in those two rooms?

RAISAT SULEIMANOVA: They didn't live there, but they would just stay when they visited.

MR. FICK: Remind us again how long they would typically stay.

RAISAT SULEIMANOVA: So if they would come for the summer, they wouldn't stay with us all the time. They would leave all their things with us, but they would also go and visit other people.

MR. FICK: Thank you.

THE COURT: All right, Miss Suleimanova. You may step down. Thank you.

MR. FICK: The defense called Naida Suleimanova.
